Chelsea vs Everton Team News:
Chelsea Team News:
- Injuries keep piling up for Chelsea and Frank Lampard’s options are limited further by more players heading into the treatment room.
- Midfielder Mateo Kovacic is definitely out of Sunday’s clash against Everton due to an Achilles tendon injury.
- N’Golo Kante, Marco van Ginkel, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham all remain sidelined for the Blues at the moment.
- Lampard also confirmed that Callum Hudson-Odoi will be sidelined for an extended period after suffering a setback in his recovering from a muscle injury.
- Willian is a huge doubt for this game due to an Achilles problem and will be a game-time call.
- Centreback Andreas Christensen and midfielder Ruben Loftis-Cheek are also listed as doubtful for this game.
How Chelsea may line-up?
- Kepa’s inspired performance against Liverpool in the FA Cup may force Lampard to ponder about the goalkeeping position. Kepa is in contention for this game.
- Olivier Giroud will definitely start up top due to lack of options up top, while Willy Gilmour may get his first start for Chelsea after a man-of-the-match performance against Liverpool.
Chelsea key players:
- Ross Barkley: Only if he can manage to sustain the level he showed against Liverpool, would he be one of the first game on Lampard’s teamsheet. The former Everton man was phenomenal against the Reds.
- Olivier Giroud: HIs link-up play was very impressive in the midweek, but it will be the goal Lampard will ask from him in this game.
- Marcos Alonso: Man-of-the-match in the last league game. Scored three of Chelsea’s last four goals in the Premier League.
- If Willian starts, he should be an option.
Everton team news:
- Everton also suffered a set-back as captain Seamus Coleman is ruled out of this game due to the muscle problem sustained in last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
- Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Morgan Schneiderlin remain out as well.
- But left-back Lucas Digne has recovered from his own muscle strain and will be starting the game.
Everton likely changes!
- With Digne back to fitness, Leighton Baines may drop down to the bench. Djibril Sidibe will definitely be on the other side of the back-line.
- Mason Holgate may keep Michael Keane out of playing 11 once again, while his partner will definitely be Yerry Mina.
Everton key players:
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin: Since Carlo Ancelotti took over, Calvert-Lewin has become an absolute poacher. He is in red-hot form.
- Richarlison: The former Watford player has scored 10 times for the team this season.
- Djibril Sidibe and Lucas Digne both know how to cross. The duo can fetch you a good amount of points.
