The German Super Cup match will be played between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich at Yuexiushan Stadium, in Guangzhou, China. The ground has a capacity of 18,000.

• The team named by Lucien Favre for the pre-season tour involved almost all the first team players, with Sergio Gomez the only player missing from the tour. The 18-year-old winger is still out injured and won’t be playing any part in the game.
• New arrivals Thorgan Hazard and Julian Brandt missed Dortmund’s last practice game, and the duo remains a doubt before this high-profile game.

• Lucas Hernandez, the summer arrival from Atletico Madrid, is listed as doubtful and will only be involved if he passes a late fitness test.
• Another late exclusion from the squad which traveled to Dortmund is Serge Gnabry. The former Arsenal star has stayed back in Munich due to the muscular problem.
• Javi Martinez has also been ruled out from the game due to a knee injury.
• This is a very very important game for Niko Kovac. The former Frankfurt and Croatia manager struggled all season to win over the fans, and a defeat here will certainly put them into the fire zone right at the start of the new season.
• That said, the 47-year-old manager has a full-strength team available for selection and we all know how capable the Munchen can be when at full power.
