- Despite few players returning to the squad, Villa have a lengthy injury list still before the final, with a host of firs team player set to miss this game.
- Jed Steer, Tom Heaton, Wesley and John McGinn all are out due to injuries and will be cheering the team from the sideline. Amongst them, Wesley and Heaton are out for the rest of the season, while McGinn should be available in a fortnight.
- But head coach dean Smith will be welcoming back the likes of Keinan Davis and Anwar El Ghazi available for selection following injuries.
- Villa’s new signing Mbwana Samatta should lead the attack for the team, with captain fantastic Jack Grealish and Trezeguet on either side of him.

- Jack Grealish: Who else but the captain. He is their biggest star. If Villa are to keep him, they will have to survive the relegation. A Cup win here will hold no value in his decision making if Villa are dragged down into the Championship.
- Mbwana Samatta: With Wesley out for the season, Villa had to dig deep into the transfer market and signed Samatta. He has the experience of playing in big games and has three goals in the Champions League this season.
- Marvelous Nakamba will be critical if Villa are to compete with City.
Manchester City team news:
- Centre-back Aymeric Laporte will not feature here, after forcing himself off the pitch in the Champions League first leg match against Real Madrid.
- Winger Leroy Sane will also miss the game. He is yet to feature for the team this season.
- Sergio Aguero should come into the playing 11 after being left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes against Madrid.
- Raheem Sterling will also start. He made the difference after coming off the bench against Madrid.
- With Laporte out, Fernandinho and Otamendi will partner at the back, with Claudio Bravo repalcing Ederon in goal.
Manchester City key players:
- Sergio Aguero: The fan-favourite. He is Mr City. He has scored 20 times for City in all competitions this season.
- Kevin de Bruyne: Produced another masterful performance in the midweek Champions League game against Madrid. He is the best playmaker in the Premier League.
- Raheem Sterling: City’s second-best goal scorer this season with 19 goals in all competitions.
