Alike the bowling effort, there wasn’t much to say about the batting display form the Windies as their innings was wrapped up for 231 for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Chris Gayle was looking good on 40 odd runs but unfortunately was the victim of a spectacular fielding display from Mahmudullah Riyad who caused a timely run-out. Shirmon Hetmyer(52 off 78, 5 fours) was the other man who stood tall against the Bangladesh bowling line-up but the effort went in vain as they fell short by 48 runs in the end.

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza led from the front with the ball as he bagged 4 wickets for just 37 runs in his quota of 10 overs. He was economical and his line and length were impeccable as he wasn’t allowing the batsmen to make runs freely.
