New IPL teams base price set at ₹2000 crore INR

It has given the young players a good platform to display their skills and learning by playing along with the legends of the game. The cricket boards have now relaxed their international schedules to allow their players to participate in the tournaments due to its impact on their performance in the international circuit. There is a new update regarding the future of the tournament.
BCCI sets base price of ₹2000 crore INR for Two new IPL teams
The IPL 2022 is likely to see the teams increased from 8 to 10. In this respect, the base price of ₹2000 crore INR has been setup for the new franchises. The same was decided during a IPL governing council meeting.
“Any company can buy the bid document paying ₹75 crore. Earlier top brass was thinking about keeping the base price for two new teams at ₹1700 crore but later it was decided to keep the base price at ₹2000 crore,” senior BCCI official said to PTI.

The BCCI board expects the amount to get near 5000 Crores mark until the companies who seem quite interested finally end the bidding war. It is being said that the companies with ₹3000 Crore turnover only can participate in the bidding.
“The BCCI is expecting anything in the range of 5000 crore if not more. There will be 74 IPL games next season and it’s a win-win situation for everyone.” BCCI official added.
Which city franchise can be added in the IPL 2022?
There are many corporates and private equity firms interested in bidding for the two new IPL teams. The new franchises will be introduced after a period of 5 years, as the franchises like Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant featured in the 2016 and 2017 season. The bidding war is likely to see a good amount of competition, as it can be a last chance for the corporates to be apart of the cash-rich league. The Adani group, RPG Sanjeev Goenka group, Torrent Group, and Aurobindo Group were earlier reported as the interested parties. The Narenda Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and Ekana Stadium in Lucknow has been looked upon as the probable venues for the new franchises.
