IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals sign Evin Lewis and Oshane Thomas for UAE leg

The second phase of the IPL 2021 is all set to kick start from 19th September in UAE. While the excitement for the remaining phase of the tournament is at the top level, disappointed to has played his part as many star players are not available for the second part of the cash-rich league.
Some players have suffered injuries, while some have pulled themselves out of the tournament, and have forced the franchises to name replacements. Even though some starts will not be a part of the tournament it is expected that there would be no shortage of entertainment in the second leg. A total of 31 games, including the playoffs, will be played in this phase of the tournament with a summit clash set to be played on October 15.
Rajasthan Royals name Evin Lewis as Jos Buttler’s replacement
Amongst all the teams Rajasthan Royals’ is the most affected team as all the star players including Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes and most probably Liam Livingstone will not be part of the second phase of the tournament.
With all the star players not being available, the Sanju Samson-led franchise has named replacements and in the latest development, it is learned that premier West Indian opener Evin Lewis and his national teammate Oshane Thomas will don the Rajasthan Royals’ jersey for the second phase of the tournament as a replacement for Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes respectively.
The franchise took to his official Twitter account and confirmed the development.

IPL 2021: A look at Evin Lewis and Oshane Thomas IPL records
The West Indian duo of Evin Lewis and Oshane Thomas has earlier played in the marquee tournament. While the left-handed batsman has featured in 16 matches, the lanky pacer has played four matches in the cash-rich league.
In 16 matches, Lewis has amassed 430 runs at an average of 26.87 to go with an impressive strike rate of 131.09, while Thomas in four matches has scalped five wickets at an average of 15.80 and an economy rate of 7.90.
Notably, Oshane Thomas has earlier represented Rajasthan Royals in 2019 while Evin Lewis has donned Mumbai Indians Jersey for in 2018 and 2019.
