IPL News: Australia’s white-ball cricket captain Aaron Finch has revealed that Cricket Australia will look at the matter involving Australian players’ participation in IPL 2021 in UAE individually.

The biggest question concerning every member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) right now is how to go ahead with the IPL 2021 restart in the UAE.
The board is yet to release a formal schedule of IPL but factoring in the packed international schedule, of India and the rest of the teams, September 15-19 is being seen as the most likely start date for the suspended IPL 2021 season. What has been confirmed by the BCCI is that the remainder of India’s cash-rich tournament will be moving to the UAE, while the matches will be contested at three venues; Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai.

IPL News: CA To Decide Australian Players’ Participation In IPL 2021 On A Case-By-Case Basis

Aaron Finch failed to attract a bid in IPL 2021 auction following an underwhelming campaign with the Royal Challengers Bangalore the previous year. But Australia’s limited-overs captain still takes interest in IPL. During an interview given to Sportstar, Finch said that he expects Cricket Australia to consider each players’ participation in IPl individually.

“I have honestly not thought about it. I would imagine it would be conducted on a case-by-case basis by Cricket Australia,” Finch said.

Australia’s players’ participation in IPl 2021 restart is under a serious threat due to Cricket Australia’s jam-packed schedule. Aussies are set to tour West Indies before the ICC Cricket World Cup, and there’s pressure growing on the board to keep its players fresh and injury-free for the T20 mega event.

“I don’t think the players themselves like resting from international cricket. But definitely, with the increased squad sizes due to COVID-19 bubbles, there are a lot of players on tours. So we will need to look at options to ensure these players are playing games,” the former RCB player added.
