Mumbai Indians finally returned to winning ways with an authoritative win over Punjab Kings by 6 wickets. MI bowlers first restricted Punjab to a below par 135/6. Their top order wobbled once again but their middle order came to the rescue with Pollard and Hardik Pandya sealing the win for them. Earlier in the day, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated an in-form Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets. Chasing 128 on a sluggish Sharjah pitch, KKR chased down the target in the penultimate over of the match with Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine providing the final flourish.
