As the league phase of IPL 2021 is reaching its business end, every match is getting important. On Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders emerged victorious in their respective matches. In the first match of the day, RCB defeated PBKS by 6 runs in a close encounter. Chasing a target of 165 at Sharjah, Punjab could manage just 158/6. In the second match, KKR defeated SRH by 6 wickets on a tricky surface at Dubai. Chasing a target of 116, Sunrisers bowlers gave KKR a tough time but Knight Riders chased down the target in the last over.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have become the third team this year to qualify for the playoffs. RCB confirmed their qualification with a hard fought victory over Punjab Kings whose chances to qualify for playoffs have become very slim now. Punjab will need the other results to go their way to qualify. Kolkata Knight Riders have strengthened their position and are the frontrunners to become the last team to qualify. Their strong NRR works in their favour and that could help them qualify for playoffs.

Orange Cap List after KKR vs SRH IPL match
KL Rahul has surpassed Ruturaj Gaikwad to take the first position in the Orange cap list. Rahul scored 39 against RCB but his side ended up on the losing side. Rahul’s opening partner Mayank Agarwal has reached to 6th spot in the list. Agarwal scored 57 from 42 balls and formed an excellent opening partnership with KL Rahul. RCB batsman Glenn Maxwell reached to 7th spot. Maxwell has been in superb form this season and scored a match winning 57 off 33 balls against PBKS.

Purple Cap List after KKR vs SRH IPL match today
Despite a wicketless day against PBKS, Harshal Patel continues to top the Purple cap list comfortably. Mohammed Shami rose to 3rd spot by returning figures of 3-39 against RCB. Shami’s bowling partner Arshdeep Singh had a bad day but is 5th in this list. Chahal continued his excellent form in the UAE leg of IPL 2021 returning figures of 3-29. The legspinner played an important role in RCB’s comeback into the game. Chahal is currently ranked 8th in the Purple cap list.
