IPL 2021 Stats: Point Table, Orange Cap Player List, Purple Cap Player List after KKR vs PBKS today’s IPL match

A fighting knock from KL Rahul and bowlers’ fightback towards the end led Punjab Kings to a much needed victory over high flying Kolkata Knight Riders. Chasing a testing target of 166, PBKS got off to a strong start from Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul. Despite some hiccups in the middle overs and at the end, Punjab reached the target with 3 balls remaining. Earlier, KKR looked set for 180 plus score at one time but were reduced to 165 thanks to some excellent death bowling by the Kings.

Punjab Kings have moved to 5th place in the points table now after the victory over KKR. Kolkata Knight Riders though, remain at 4th position but they need to win their next two games to give themselves a chance to qualify. With Punjab’s victory, Delhi Capitals have also qualified for playoffs now. Delhi is the second team to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2021 after Chennai Super Kings who are currently on top of the table.

Orange Cap List after KKR vs PBKS IPL match
The Orange Cap list has changed again as Man of the Match of KKR vs PBKS game KL Rahul has moved to the top of the list. Rahul scored a match winning 67 off 55 balls to take Punjab across the line. Shikhar Dhawan is 2nd in the list while Sanju Samson occupies the third position currently. CSK’s openers Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad are 4th and 5th on the list respectively. Rahul and Samson are the only batsmen in the top 5 to average over 50.

Purple Cap List after KKR vs PBKS IPL match today
With figures of 3-32 in the last match, left arm seamer Arshdeep Singh moves to 3rd place in the Purple cap list. PBKS bowler has been in superb wicket taking form this season and he continues to impress. Mohammed Shami also bowled well and is 5th on the list. KKR mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy too had a good game with figures of 2-24. Harshal Patel continues to top the list with 26 wickets to his name while Avesh Khan is 2nd on the list.
