Two interesting matches on Saturday ensured IPL 2021’s league phase is headed towards an exciting finish. In the first match of the day, Delhi Capitals defeated defending champions Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets chasing down 130 on a slow Sharjah pitch. In the second match of the day, CSK’s winning momentum was brought to a halt by Rajasthan Royals. RR chased down 190 with 7 wickets to spare in a high scoring game. Both matches produced contrasting scores but proved to be the exciting ones.

Despite the loss to Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings maintain their top position in the points table because of their superior net run rate. If CSK win one more game, they can finish among the top two teams in the league stage. Rajasthan Royals though, have given themselves a good chance of qualifying and move to 6th position. Delhi Capitals remain at 2nd place despite the win over Mumbai Indians. The problems have increased for defending champions as they have been dropped to second last in the point table.

Orange Cap List after CSK vs RR IPL match
We have found a new Orange cap holder in the form of Ruturaj Gaikwad who scored 101* off 60 balls against Rajasthan Royals. The CSK opener has jumped to the 1st position from the 5th place. This was also the first century of IPL 2021 Phase 2 and Gaikwad became the first batter this year to surpass 500 runs. RR captain Sanju Samson has moved to 3rd while Faf du Plessis is 5th on the list. DC opener Shikhar Dhawan has slipped to 3rd place in this list.

Purple Cap List after CSK vs RR IPL match today
Harshal Patel continues to top the Purple cap list with 26 wickets. DC fast bowler Avesh Khan has continued his good form with 3-15 against Mumbai Indians. Avesh is quickly moving closer to Harshal Patel and is currently 2nd on the list with 21 wickets to his name. Jasprit Bumrah has moved to the 3rd spot. Punjab Kings fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami occupy the 4th and 5th positions respectively. The list is likely to change with two exciting double headers scheduled on Sunday.
