Andre Russell is a professional cricketer from the West Indies. A ferocious striker of the cricket ball, the flamboyant all-rounder from the West Indies is a firm fan favorite wherever he goes. For a T20 specialist, Andre Russell’s international career began with a Test match. In November 2010, he made his Test debut in Sri Lanka. In a game dominated by Chris Gayle’s 333 runs, he could only score two runs and one wicket. That was his first and last test. His batting and bowling were both deemed insufficient for a place in the Test team.
Russell’s power and all-round talents kept him close to the ODI team, allowing him to appear in 56 games. He wasn’t always accessible to the West Indies because of his league cricket obligations. He was coming off a strong IPL season, so the 2019 World Cup was a fantastic chance for him. However, his lackluster performances may have signaled the end of his ODI career.
The Jamaican has also played T20 international cricket for a long period. However, there is a constant tension between national duties and club contracts here as well. Russell has appeared in 62 T20I matches for the West Indies.
