IPL Phase 2 Schedule: The cricket carnival is back after being postponed in the early part of the year. IPL 2021 is set to resume from 19th September in UAE. Delhi Capitals currently are on the top of the table with six wins out of eight games and are followed by Chennai Super Kings with five wins in seven games. Defending Champions Mumbai Indians are placed fourth in the points table with four wins in their bag in seven matches.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday (25th July) announced the complete timetable for the second phase of India Premier League (IPL) 2021. Five time champions Mumbai Indians will face three-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings in what will be the 30th match of the season on 19th September 2021 at Dubai.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) which hosted the last season of the IPL will host the rest of the league fixtures and the playoffs, with Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah being the three venues. There will be 7 double headers in the second phase of the IPL 2021 with final of the marquee tournament to be played on October 15 in Dubai.

IPL Phase 2 Schedule: Why was IPL 2021 postponed ?
The 14th edition of IPL was indefinitely postponed with 29 of the 60 scheduled games played out. The COVID-19 cases among players and support staff inside the bio-bubble in as many as four teams led to the BCCI being forced to stop the tournament with immediate effect on 4th May.
Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, Wriddhiman Saha, Amit Mishra, Michael Hussy and L Balaji were among the players and support staff who tested positive for the coronavirus even after being in bio-bubble which forced the governing body to suspend the marquee tournament.
