IPL 2021: Pat Cummins “had no idea” who SRK was and recalls first encounter with the KKR owner

Pat Cummins is one of the finest modern day fast bowlers in world cricket and is a vital member for Australia cricket as well as his IPL franchise Kolkata Kinght Riders (KKR). His knack of picking up wickets was the reason why the KKR owners spent a whopping 15.5 crores on the Australian international.
It’s quite obvious to say that KKR’s co-owner Shah Rukh Khan is an admirer of Cummins’ skill set. Although Sharukh Khan is a global star and has fans all over, Pat Cummins wasn’t quite aware of SRK the first time they met. In his defence Cummins did say that he has never watched a Bollywood film.
Pat Cummins on his first ever meeting with Shah Rukh Khan
“The first time I ever met Shah Rukh Khan, I had no idea who he was. I think I was 18 or 19 years old and I never watched a Bollywood film. I heard that Shah Rukh was the owner (of KKR). It was quite naive (first encounter with Khan). I didn’t think of many. I was like this guy seems cool, he’s got a real aura and has big security guards,” Cummins said
Pat Cummins went onto to say that there’s no better owner than him right now, as the Shah Rukh allows to play with freedom, while having their own thought.
“Last couple of seasons, he has not be able to get in the bubble but he helps on the zoom calls. In terms of the leader and owner of the team, you can’t ask for a better one because he only asks his players to enjoy the game and play with the freedom which is a rare thing” he added.

IPL 2021 New Schedule
It was an underwhelming first half to the IPL 2021 season for KKR, as they dangle at the 7th spot with four points to their names. With Pat Cummins missing out the IPL Phase 2, things could get worse for the two time champions.
The IPL Second Half is likely to begin on September 19, with the date for the finals on October 15 as per reports.
