RCB rope in Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera and Tim David for phase 2 of IPL 2021
The second phase of the IPL 2021 is set to commence from 19th September in UAE. The availability of many overseas players has been a major concern for all the franchises. With many players not being available for the UAE leg of the tournament, the franchises are on the hunt for replacements, including Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who were also marred with the unavailability of some players for the remainder of the tournament.
In the latest development, the Franchise took to their official Twitter account and made the announcements regarding their replacements. The Virat Kohli-led side have roped in Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera and Tim David for the remainder of the tournament in place of Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams and Fin Allen respectively.
Wanindu Hasanranga, who is currently the No.2 T20I bowler in the ICC rankings, has emerged as a player to look out for. The all-rounder played a pivotal role in Sri Lanka’s win over India in the recently concluded T20I series. With conditions favouring spin in UAE, he along with Yuzvendra Chahal can play a big role for Virat Kohli-led side and with his ability to bat, he can turn out to be a vital player for RCB.
On the other hand, Dushmantha Chameera will strengthen RCB’s pace bowling-attack along with likes of Mohammed Siraj, Kyle Jamieson and Harshal Patel. Tim David, who hails from Singapore, will bring balance to the squad with his ability to strike the ball cleanly and take wickets with the ball.
