One of the best all rounders in limited overs cricket in Shakib Al Hasan was asked to pick his all time IPL XI in which the former Bangladeshi captain has made some shocking omissions.
The 2 time IPL winning player Shakib Al Hasan is currently part of KKR squad with whom he won 2 IPL cups in 2012 and 2014 under the able leadership of Gautam Gambhir. He formed alliance with Sunil Narine in the spin department and played a pivotal role in both the victorious campaigns.
IPL 2021: Shakib Al Hasan oversees 2 all time greats
Chris Gayle is known as Don Bradman of T20 cricket, such are his numbers in this format of the game. There is no opener in the world who could match his numbers even in the coming years. As far as IPL is concerned, he is the best opener the league has ever seen and arguably the best overseas player along with AB de Villiers.
The southpaw averages 40 and strikes at a whopping 149 after having played 140 games in IPL. The sheer volume of runs that he has amassed shows the kind of player he is.
When is the next ODI World Cup and who will host it
Shakib Al Hasan also left out the modern marvel in AB de Villiers who has insane record as far as IPL is concerned. He has played 172 matches and averages 40 and strikes at 156. These are numbers which a normal human can only dream of.
One surprise pick in Shakib Al Hasan’s XI was the English all rounder in Ben Stokes. Ben Stokes has been underwhelming in IPL so far. He had one good season in 2017 for RPSG and since then he has been a serial disappointment with odd performances here and there.
New IPL teams base price set at ₹2000 crore INR
Shakib Al Hasan’s all time IPL XI:
Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (captain and wk), KL Rahul, Ben Stokes, Ravindra Jadeja, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar
