Amit Mishra gave out obstructing the field in IPL 2019
The Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019 saw Amit Mishra become only the second player in the history of the tournament to be given out obstructing the field.
The game was all set for a thrilling last-over finish. In the last four balls of the final over, Delhi Capitals needed just two runs to book a place for themselves in the semi-final. Amit Mishra defended the delivery of Khaleel Ahmed and just ran blindly in front of the stumps. The left-arm pacer quickly got to the ball and when he was lining up to hit stumps at the non-striker’s end Mishra was seen protecting the stumps by running in front of the stumps and the throw hit his right arm.

The David Warner-led franchise then appealed to the umpires regarding Mishra’s deliberate running in front of the stumps and the third umpire looked convinced with the argument as the batsman was given out. The run-out didn’t do any good to SRH as Rishabh Pant smashed a four on the penultimate ball of the innings and managed to take his team to the finishing line.
