The India vs New Zealand series is going to start the preparations for both teams for the coming year which has a world cup scheduled in Australia. The 2022 world cup is going to be a chance for the Indians to redeem themselves after a dismal showing in the 2021 world cup. They would want this team to reinvent themselves and the way they play the shortest format of the game. They have a new captain on board in the form of Rohit Sharma who would now want to carry his IPL Trophy form into the ICC event and be the captain who lifts the world cup for India next year.
As for their opponents, the NZ team is still recovering from the loss they suffered only a few days ago at the hands of the Australians in the finals. This was a hard jolt for them to take after performing so well and you have to feel for Kane Williamson who is also not available in this series. The Dream11 prediction for this series is as follows
Wicket Keepers
Tim Seifert- Used in the final, he would be expected to take up keeping duties for the team and would be a key figure with the bat wherever there is a requirement of acceleration
Rishabh Pant – Despite an off-colour showing in the world cup, the Indian team is likely to back him in this series and will be expected to play as the lead wicket keeper despite the presence of Ishan Kishan in the squad
Batsmen –
Rohit Sharma – Taking over the captaincy reins from Kohli, he would like to make his mark on the game straight away and make an impact right away with his bat. He could be the guy who leads from the front.
KL Rahul- KL is a player who has seen ups and downs in his career but his class is undeniable. You have to expect him to be a world beater now that he is entering the prime of his career
Daryll Mitchel – He has a lot going for him and was a match winner in the semi-final game against the British. But this is chance to get over the ghosts of the final and come up with an innings of substance right here. This could be a turning point in his career
Glenn Phillips – Rated very highly in the circuit, he has his time now to show what he can do. He has shown glimpses but something substantial now would be really handy in this series
All Rounders
Venkatesh Iyer – The man who has been picked primarily as a batting allrounder, could give India a certain edge with his bowling abilities too. He could be the 6th bowling option that the country has been looking for
James Neesham – He showed against England with his cameo that he could be a force to be reckoned with in this format of the game. He could be a game changer here as well.
Bowlers
Ish Sodhi – Sodhi had a brilliant world cup until the finals when David Warner took him to the cleaners. This is his time to shine in the world cup and be the leading leg spinner in the world
Tim Southee – Given the captain’s armband for this series, he would be really motivated to perform well here in this series. This could be a series where he just does what he does best. Pick up wickets
R Ashwin – Back in the limited over setup after a long time, he could be the man who gets India back on track for the next world cup. This could be a great opportunity for him to cement his place
