West Indies vs England 2nd T20I Preview
England’s Phil Salt struck an incredible unbeaten century to lead the charge of England team to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the first T20I. Chasing a big total, Salt was unstoppable, smashing 103 not out off just 54 balls.
Phil Salt continued his insane form in the West Indies as he scored an unbeaten T20I 💯, his 3rd on Caribbean shores, to power England to a convincing win over the hosts in the 1st T20I! 🔥#WIvEngonFanCode pic.twitter.com/Kq8A6xKCh0

He was well-supported by Jacob Bethell, who made an impressive 58, as they chased down the target with 3.1 overs to spare. Salt’s performance was extra special because he had spent part of his childhood in Barbados, and the crowd cheered loudly for both him and Bethell, who was born there.
On the bowling side, Saqib Mahmood was the star for England, taking 4 wickets for 34 runs. He bowled brilliantly, including three key wickets in the powerplay, and helped keep West Indies under control despite their late fightback. West Indies had a tough start, losing wickets early, but Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell fought back with big hits, and tailenders Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd added valuable runs to push the total to a challenging 160.
But England’s chase was smooth, thanks to Salt’s aggressive batting from the start. His powerful shots, including five consecutive boundaries off Shamar Joseph, set the tone, and he completed his century with a beautiful shot down the ground. Despite some quick wickets in the middle, Salt and Bethell’s partnership led England to victory. This win gave England a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, and they will be looking to build on this momentum in the next game.
