WOMEN’S BIG BASH LEAGUE 2018-19 | ADELAIDE STRIKERS WOMEN VS SYDNEY THUNDER WOMEN MATCH PREVIEW

Hobart, December 15 at Saturday at 08:50 AM IST

Second-placed Sydney Thunders would be eyeing the top spot when they take Adelaide Strikers in back to back games on Saturday and Sunday. Both the fixtures will be played at Hobart’s Blundstone Arena.

With four points coming off two wins and 1 loss in three encounters, Sydney Thunders have grabbed the second spot in the league table and are behind the table topper- Sydney Sixers in terms of net run rate.  The two back to back encounters over the weekend, give Thunders a perfect opportunity to clinch the top spot.

Adelaide Strikers are placed fourth with just 1 win out of three encounters. Strikers started their campaign with 36 runs win over Brisbane Heat and succumbed to 6 wickets defeat in the second encounter against Melbourne Renegades. Their last encounter with Melbourne Renegades ended in a no result after rain played a spoilsport.

No Haynes for Thunders

Sydney Thunder will be without the services of Rachael Haynes in the weekend’s clash as the Australian batter has been rested due to the hectic schedule. Haynes was the key member in the recently concluded Women’s World T20 and hasn’t got proper time to rest.

Uncapped teenager Rachel Trenaman and Saskia Horley are the two new inclusions in the 13-member squad named by Thunders.
