The fifth edition of Australia’s WBBL is set to kick off with the first fixture scheduled to be played between Sydney Sixers Women vs Sydney Thunder Women at North Sydney Oval, Sydney tomorrow noon.
Eight teams comprising of some of the best T20 talents from across the globe will take part in the tournament in a double round-robin format. The top four sides will qualify for the semi-finals followed with the final slated to take place on December 8.
The two-times champions, Sydney Sixers were last year’s runner-up after losing the final against Brisbane Heat. Led by Ellyse Perry, Sixers have a strong and robust squad capable of making all the way to finals and will be looking to start the dominance from the first game.
Sydney Thunder, on the opposite, will play under the leadership of new skipper Rachael Haynes. They will miss out a couple of notable names from the squad in the likes of Nicola Carey, Stafanie Taylor, Harmanpreet Kaur, etc.
