SLZ vs TKR Dream 11 Team CPL 2020 – St Lucia Zouks vs Trinbago Knight Riders

With the second leg of the CPL 2020 tournament moving to Port Of Spain in Trinidad, Zouks and Knight Rides are tied with 6 points each albeit Zouks playing a game more. TKR has proved everyone as to why they are one of the tournament favourites by winning all the 3 games they played so far. While St Lucia Zouks with the addition of Andy Flower as their coach, has surprised everyone by winning three consecutive matches after their initial loss against Jamaican Tallawahs.
TKR’s batting unit has performed well so far with the exception of Lendl Simmons as Narine, Munro and DM Bravo have scored fifties and Pollard contributing with a brilliant 41*(17) against Barbados Tridents. The addition of Jayden Seales pace to the team has provided a different dimension to the bowling attack. With Narine bowling exceptionally well and Ali Khan and Fawad amongst the wickets, the bowling attack looks solid. The only issue would be the form of Dwayne Bravo who is leaking runs at an ER of 9.83.
Except for Chase who has scored two fifties, SLZ doesn’t have a standout performer with the bat but valuable contributions from all through the batting order has helped them post some respectable totals on the board. On the bowling front, the spinners have been effective for them along with Kuggelejin’s ability bowl the heavy ball which has fetched him 10 wickets (highest in the tournament so far). Both the teams are clever with the usage of match-ups and this should make for an exciting contest to watch. The winner of this match will go on to top the points table.
Pitch report
With Queen’s Park Oval, we can expect more batter-friendly surface than that of Tarouba but the difference wouldn’t be stark considering the assistance spinners got in the last two matches yesterday. There are predictions of a thunderstorm in the forecast but rain should stay away from this day game.
SLZ vs TKR Dream11 Prediction
Possible TKR Playing 11 – L Simmons, S Narine, C Munro, DM Bravo, K Pollard(C), T Siefert(WK), DJ Bravo, K Pierre, J Seales, Ali Khan, Fawad Ahmed
Sunil Narine – The MVP player of this year’s CPL, Narine has been effective with both bat and ball scoring 111 runs at a SR of 135.36 and 4 wickets at an ER of 4.58. But considering the heavy ball match-up Kuggelejin and Chemar Holder provides, chances of Narine’s success with the bat are less.
K Pollard – To counter the off-spin match-up of St Lucia Zouks, Pollard might promote himself up the order and his extraordinary number against St Lucia Zouks – 332 runs at 66.4 with a SR of 148.88 warrants his selection.
Colin Munro – He’s in terrific form this season scoring 116 runs with two fifties. His batting record at Queen’s Park Oval with 632 runs at 45.14 makes him a mandatory selection to your fantasy team.
Jayden Seales – Despite being expensive, Jayden Seales has the pace to trouble the batsman and if everything clicks he has the ability to get wickets in a flurry.
Possible SLZ Playing 11 – A Fletcher, K Melius/R Cornwall, M Deyal, R Chase, N Zadran, M Nabi, J Glenn, D Sammy, S Kuggelijin, K Williams, C Holder
Roston Chase – The leading run-scorer and the second highest wicket-taker for St Lucia Zouks with 122 runs and 5 wickets respectively. With the amount of left-hand batsman in TKR’s middle order, his off-spin can come handy along with his consistent run-making.
M Nabi – He loves playing at the Queen’s Park Oval scoring 140 runs at 46.67 and bagging 9 wickets. With the left-hand dominant middle-order of TKR, Nabi’s probability of succeeding with the ball is high.
S Kuggelejin – He’s the leading wicket-taker in this season so far with 10 wickets from 4 games. So trust him to get some more in this game.
Chemar Holder – He impressed everyone with his hostile pace and yorkers in the last game. With the TKR batting line-up apart from a few not comfortable with hostile pace expect him to run riots with his bowling.
SLZ vs TKR Dream11 Team Captain, Differential Picks
With the average score at Queen’s Park Oval being close to only 160 and the assistance the surface provides to the spinners, try to load your fantasy team with spin bowling allrounders. Composition of the team should contain more wicket-takers and reliable batsman. Having more TKR players in the team is preferable.
Captaincy Picks – The off-spinning allrounders R Chase, S Narine and M Nabi has the potential to rake in more fantasy points due to the pitch and their batting ability. On the batting front, Colin Munro is an obvious candidate due to his records as we discussed above. A Fletcher could be a tempting pick but his numbers against TKR and at the Queen’s Park Oval doesn’t inspire much confidence. Going in with a fast bowler as captain for this match might be risky even considering the success of Kuggelejin so far.
Differential Picks –
Tim Seifert – Choosing T Seifert over A Fletcher could be a standout pick. The reasoning behind this move would be the lack of success from A Fletcher against TKR and in the Queen’s Park Oval and also TKR might promote Seifert considering the off-spinners in the STZ line-up.
M Deyal and Chemar Holder – Mark Deyal and Chemar Holder can be a surprise pick considering Deyal’s recent form with the bat and the hostile pace of Chemar Holder. If anyone of them goes on to perform to their potential, they can prove to be the difference between your side and others.
