As the underdogs, Sri Lanka stunned everyone after clinching the test series by 2-0, the hosts completely dominated in the ODI series and clean swept Sri Lanka by 5-0 in response. Now, both the sides will play three T20Is on March 19, 22 and 24 at Cape Town, Centurian and Johannesburg as part of their final assignment….

Proteas name two squads for T20s

South Africa has named two squads ahead of the series- for the first T20I and the rest two games. They have included Aiden Markram, Anrich Nortje and Sinethemba Qeshile in the squad and are in contention. However, the 20-year old wicketkeeper-batter S Qeshile has been selected for the second and third game. Also, JP Duminy will be leading the side in second and third T20I after Faf du Plessis will leave. Along with Du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Imran Tahir and Kagiso Rabada will be also available for only one game. Chris Morris and Lutho Simpala will join the squad in last two games.

Sri Lanka hopes for consolation 

On the other side, Sri Lanka would be looking to leave behind the horrific 5-0 whitewash in ODIs and come stronger in the T20Is. Sadeera Samarawickrama, Suranga Lakmal and Jeffrey Vandersay are the new additions to the squad while Upul Tharanga and Kusal Perera are missing out from the T20 squad. The visitors have lost their last two T20Is against England and New Zealand and some extraordinary performances will be in prerequisite to give it back to Proteas. Thisara Perera, Niroshan Dickwella and Suranga Lakmal will have all the eyes.
