The Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be at it again as they take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Dubai International Stadium. Both sides are on the back of defeats and will be eager to return to winning way. Rajasthan currently find themselves at the bottom half of the table and will have to pull up their socks in order to make it to the top four. Whereas, RCB who are being termed as one of the teams to make it to the final four will eye two more points to stick their claim. Here are some players who are expected to make an impact in the game ahead.
Virat Kohli
The RCB skipper started off the campaign on an underwhelming note but is steadily getting back into his groove. Virat Kohli has scored 304 runs from the last eight game for his side which includes two fifties and a batting average of 60.80. He nearly got to his third fifty against KXIP but fell just two runs short of it. Nevertheless, Kohli continues to be a threat with the bat against any given opposition.
Jofra Archer
Rajasthan Royal’s spearhead fast bowler has been a real treat to watch this season. Archer with his express pace and bounce has bothered the best of batsmen in the recent past. The England international has scalped 12 wickets from the last eight games, which also includes a three-wicket haul versus the Delhi Capitals in the most recent fixture. Jofra Archer is a genuine wicket taker and shouldn’t be left out.
AB de Villiers
One of the most destructive batsmen of the modern age and rightly so. AB de Villiers is having a terrific season with the bat so far. The former South African captain has scored 230 runs from the last eight appearances, which includes three fifties, an average of 46.00 and a Strike Rate of 179.68. Not getting him out early could lead to some serious damage for the team on the receiving end.
Ben Stokes
Regarded as the one finest all rounders in modern day cricket, Ben Stokes is yet to strike complete authority in the IPL. However, he did showcase a glimpse of what he can create after an impressive knock of 41 from 35 deliveries versus the Capitals in only his second game this season. Stokes has scored 681 runs from 36 IPL appearances which includes a half century and a century as well. He’s proved to be pretty handy with the ball in hand too as he’s scalped 26 wickets in the process.
Smart Picks
Chris Morris
Morris’ inclusion has been of real value for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The former Delhi Capitals player has picked up five wickets from the last three appearances and even struck a quick fire 25 runs from eight balls. Chirs Morris’ all round abilities makes him a real asset for his side.
Rahul Tewatia
Rahul Tewatia has proved to be an impact player for Rajasthan Royals and has won his side some vital games at crucial intervals on quite a few occasions. Tewatia has scored 203 runs from eight appearances this season and has scalped five wickets in the process.
