After registering 10 wickets win in the last encounter, charged up Punjab will welcome bottom-placed Himachal Pradesh in their upcoming Ranji Trophy fixture at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali from December 06.

An outstanding performance from bowlers helped Punjab clinch 10 wickets win over Delhi in the last encounter. Batting first, Delhi only managed 107-10 in front of Siddarth Kaul’s impressive spell (12.5- 32 -6) and Vinay Choudhary’s (9-34-3). In the first innings, Punjab took 175 runs lead after being bowled out at 282 runs. Returning for second innings, Delhi posted 179-10 with Gautam Gambhir (60 of 95) contributing the most at the top. In reply, Punjab registered 10 wickets win after scoring the necessary runs on the third day. The only thing which would bother Punjab is Yuvraj Singh’s painstaking 24 runs off 88 deliveries. Out of form, Yuvraj is struggling hard to score runs with the bat which could be a concern for Punjab.  

Ironically, Himachal Pradesh suffered 10 wickets defeat in their last encounter against Hyderabad. Batting first, Himachal posted a good total of  315-10 with the help of a century from skipper Prashant Chopra (110 of 190). In response, Hyderabad rode on skipper Akshath Reddy’s (99 of 192) and TR Teja’s (75 of 116) to cruise through the set target and was bowled out for 352-10. Himachal started the second innings with 1 run lead and was surprisingly bowled out for a paltry 97-10.  Coming to chase 97 in the last innings, Hyderabad chased down the target with 10 wickets in hand, courtesy Tanmay Agarwal (48*) and Akshath Reddy (44*).
