Afghanistan vs Ireland Playerzpot Prediction 3rd T20I Match Preview Team News and Fantasy Team

Afghanistan rewrote the history books in their last meeting against Ireland as they posted the highest-ever Twenty20 International total in Dehradun on Sunday. Opting to bat first, Afghanistan went on to score a record 278 for the loss of three wickets. The 20-year left-handed opener, Hazratullah Zazai hit 162* from 62 balls which included 16 sixes. Moreover, Zazai and Usman Ghani stitched a record partnership of 73 runs off 48 balls which was highest for any wicket in the shortest format. With this, Afghanistan clinched the series and Ireland could only score 194 runs for the loss of six wickets and lost the match by 84 runs.

Chasing a record total, Paul Stirling started off with a six and stitched a partnership of 126 runs with Kevin O’Brien to keep up with the run rate. However, the fall of O’Brien added to the woes of Ireland as the team faltered before the bowling attack of Afghanistan. Now, when both the teams meet for the last match of the T20I series, while Afghanistan would look forward to win the series by 3-0, Ireland would out hope to avoid a clean sweep.

Fantasy Picks from Afghanistan

  • The unbeaten knock of 162 by Hazratullah Zazai is the second-highest individual score in the shortest format. Zazai took only 42 balls to reach his maiden century which is the third fastest in terms of balls faced. He would look forward to continuing his good form forward and he is a good fantasy pick.
  • Rashid Khan has taken 24 wickets against Ireland so far which is the most for any bowler against an opponent in T20I. Moreover, he has taken these 24 scalps in nine matches at an average of 7.58. He along with Nabi and Mujeeb make the pace battery of Afghanistan a formidable one.

Fantasy Picks from Ireland

  • Paul Stirling and Kevin O’ Brien added 126 runs for the first wicket for Ireland. Paul Stirling scored 91 runs off 50 balls and Kevin O’ Brien scored 37 runs off 25 balls. Both the batsmen will be crucial for the next header as well.
  • Joshua Little, Boyd Rankin and Peter Chase took 1 wicket apiece in the last header at an economy rate of 12.25, 8.75 and 14.33 respectively. You can pick either of them in your fantasy team.
