In the first encounter, England Lions suffered a crushing 187 runs defeat after getting bowled out at mere 164 in response to 352 runs target set by Pakistan A. However, a much-improved show helped the Lions to register 6 wickets win over Pakistan A in the second encounter and level up the series.

Previous encounter

Pakistan had won the first match by 187 runs and decided to bat first after winning the toss in the second fixture. A much-improved show by England bowlers and a resilient century from Mohammad Saad gave Lions an achievable 290 runs target to win. For Lions, Saqib Mahmood bagged three wickets, Jamie Overton returned with two and captain Lewis Gregory and Danny Briggs took one wicket apiece.

In response, England Lions chased down the target in 47.1 overs with six wickets remaining, courtesy Alex Davies (76 of 84), Sam Hain (69 of 80) and Joe Clarke (41 of 44).   

With both the teams looking confident with one win each, a close contest is expected tomorrow.
