Pakistan were favorites to win the third game, however it was a spirited performance from New Zealand to put up a show with the ball that denied them the win. Pakistan stumbled through the run chase, they were reeling at 88-7 but it Iftikhar Ahmed believed that they could still win it as he and Faheem Ashraf brought them back from the dead and got close to the target but eventually fell short of four runs.
New Zealand’s senior players stepped up in the last game to give them a win the series. Tom Latham with a sublime fifty and Daryl Mitchell with a 30 plus score and Neesham and Chapman played a quick cameo to take them to a respectable total. It was the bowling that did all the work, James Neesham with a three for really dented Pakistan’s chance early and it was Neesham who sent the dangerous Iftikhar Ahmed to bring them back in the game in the end.
