India Women tour of New Zealand 2019 | NZ-W vs IN-W Dream11 1st ODI Match Prediction
India Women vs New Zealand Women Match Preview | Who Will Win Today Match
Napier, January 24, Thursday at 06:30 AM IST
After so much of high and lows; differences in opinions of senior players- Mithali Raj & Harmanpreet Kaur, and the appointment of a new coach – WV Raman, India Women resumes its journey with their first tour of 2019. Alike the Men in Blue, India Women are on New Zealand tour to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20s from January 24- February 10.
A lot of boxes need to be ticked throughout this tour. For the first time since 2006, India Women will be playing a series in New Zealand. Barring Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami, it will be the maiden experience for the rest of the squad. The side will also try to lift themselves up from the fifth position on the ICC Women’s Championship points table. For the first time, Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur will be sharing the same dressing room after the differences in opinions came out in public at the end of World T20 Championship last year. It is also the first assignment for the newly appointed head coach – WV Raman – and all the eyes will be upon him for creating a balanced and positive environment in the team.
New Zealand, on the opposite, have the biggest advantage with them – playing at home. The hosts are placed second in the ICC Championship Table and are 4 points behind the table-toppers – Australia. They would be eyeing to avenge their ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 and 2018 Women’s World T20 loss during the group stage which barred them from advancing into the next round at both the occasions.
Facts to remember-
- New Zealand Women winning percentage since 2014: 62%
- Hosts winning percentage at home: 74%
- In a total of 58 ODIs since 2014, New Zealand Women have won 36 of them
- They have managed a win 20 times out of 27 outings at home
- Last meeting: 2018 World T20 – India registered a thumping 34-run win over New Zealand, courtesy Harmanpreet Kaur’s century
We are in New Zealand and can't wait for the series to start. Let's get behind @imVkohli and his boys and @M_Raj03 and her girls. #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/EqCZMuKlPi
