Riding on Yasir Shah’s magical 14-wicket haul, Pakistan secured an innings and 16 runs win in the second test match and levelled the series by 1-1. The third and final test match of the series will be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi from Monday.   

After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat and both the openers were back in pavilion within the first 10 overs. However, Azhar Ali (81) and Harris Sohail (147) resurrected the innings which was strengthened by Babar Azam’s (127*) down the order. Pakistan declared the first innings at 418-5 and invited New Zealand to chase down.

In response, the visitors were bowled out for a paltry 90 in just 35.5 overs. Leaving behind the top three batters, no one else managed to score even five runs. Six of New Zealand batters went for a duck. Yasir Shah (12.3- 41-8) was the reason behind this havoc. 

Returning for the second innings, Kiwis put an improved show with the bat but were again bowled out for 312 runs. This time Yasir Shah returned with six wickets while Hasan Ali bagged three. For New Zealand, Tom Latham, Ross Taylor and Henry Nicholls scored a fifty in the second innings. 

Earlier, New Zealand clinched 4 runs win the first test match after bowling out Pakistan at 171 runs in the second innings in response to 176 required.

With the series still alive to be grabbed, both the teams would like to come back strong in the final test.
