Breaking their four matches losing streak, Northern Spirits registered first win over Central Hinds in their last encounter and would be hoping to carry the form when they face Otago Sparks for the second time.

In their first meeting, Otago Sparks turned out to be the winner by 57 runs after bowling out Spirits for a paltry 68 in response to 125 runs target.
