MI vs KXIP Dream11 Prediction | Mumbai vs Punjab IPL 2019
Mumbai Indians are back on track with the wins over Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings in the last two outings. The three-time champions welcome Kings XI Punjab at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.
The home team did not get off to a flattering start in the competition, losing two out of the first three fixtures. The win against the title holders CSK, a complete performance, did them a world of good to set their sights on the top half of the table.
Like the last edition of the Indian Premier League, Kings XI Punjab have done well at the start of the tournament. After the first six games, they are sitting at the third spot and tied on points with the teams above them on the standings.
In KL Rahul and Chris Gayle, KXIP have a strong opening combination that can wreak havoc on the opposition bowlers. It is up to them to keep the foot on the gas and not fizzle out like they did last year.
Captains react after last games
Too close to comfort. We have had really close games, the biggest positive for me is there is scope for improvement. The plans were held very well upon. There is enough ability to work on it.
– Ravichandran Ashwin, Kings XI Punjab captain
Yes, very pleased. Winning the game is obviously a great result. We want to win as many games as possible at the start because we know how hectic it gets in the end.Â
– Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians
Pitch conditions:Â The Wankhede is a happy place for the batsmen, with a 90% win rate for the chasing side.Â
MI vs KXIP Match Schedule:Â Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai at 8:00 PM on April 10
Head-to-head (last five T20s)Â – Mumbai Indians – 3, Kings XI Punjab – 2

MI vs KXIP Dream11 Team
KL Rahul loves MI bowling – Here’s a clear case of Dream11 captain. In-form KL Rahul has scored 71, 94, 24, 68, 23 in his last five innings against Mumbai. Plus, he would be confident after a match-winning knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.
Gayle’s weakness –Â KXIP opener Chris Gayle has been dismissed by spinners on all last three occasions in the competition. However, Mumbai Indians do not have a threatening spinner in the ranks. The Universe boss might tee off!
Bumrah a threat to KXIP batsmen – In 9 games against Punjab, Bumrah has 11 wickets and he might add to the tally.
Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the fixture. Siddesh Lad has been included. Pollard to captain
