MI vs DC Dream11 Prediction: After 56 tussles for the ages, here we are on the day of IPL play-offs for this historic edition. In Qualifier 1, top 2 teams on the points table – Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will lock horns at Dubai for a place in the finale. Winner will directly qualify for the summit clash while loser will have to play another match to give them a chance to qualify. We will preview MI vs DC Dream11 contest.
Mumbai Indians are coming off from the worst day of their campaign in the last league match. But they wouldn’t read too much into that as their key players were rested as there was nothing to gain from that encounter. Batting first at Sharjah, returning Rohit Sharma was dismissed very early. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan had a decent partnership in the middle but once former was gone, they had a procession for a while. Kieron Pollard landed some handy blows in the end overs to push the score to 149. In reply, MI bowlers lacked the cutting edge in absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult as they struggled right from the word go. David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha ensured a 10-wicket routing of the defending champions.
Delhi Capitals should be high on confidence after they were able to stop their losing streak in a high-pressure situation against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last match. As a result of their win, DC ensured a top 2 qualification in the league. Bowling first, bowlers kept RCB under check even when they were not picking up wickets. Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada were back to their best with 3 & 2 scalps respectively. Ravichandran Ashwin also picked up a crucial one of Virat Kohli as RCB were allowed to put only 152 on the board. In the chase, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane were involved in a partnership that sealed the fortunes of Delhi Capitals. They lost couple of wickets in the end but chased down the target comfortably to book their play-offs spot.
In head-to-head comparisons, Mumbai Indians are slightly ahead with a lead of 14-12 from 26 matches played between these two sides. In last 5 matches, Mumbai Indians have won 3 of those matches. Both matches this year have gone Mumbai Indians’ way in convincing manners. On last Saturday, MI handed a hiding by 9 wickets to the Capitals at the same venue.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitches at Dubai haven’t seen the transformation like other venues as surfaces have been still good for batting. A fresh pitch today will only mean more batting friendly conditions. But as expected in November, due will play a major role in the second innings today. Both the teams are likely to chase to deny any advantages to the opposition.

Captain Picks
For Small Leagues
- Suryakumar Yadav looks an obvious choice on form today. He has 410 runs from 13 innings at an average of 41.00 from the league stage and has played some of the breathtaking innings for Mumbai Indians. He already has a half-century against DC earlier in the season.
- Jasprit Bumrah has been MI’s number one game-changer so far this year. After an indifferent start, he came soaring back into contention for the purple cap with 23 wickets against his name already. He has been particularly impactful in the middle overs and his battle against DC middle order today may become very critical.
- Shikhar Dhawan is Delhi’s leading run scorer. This year, we have seen quite a change in the way he has approached his batting. He is striking at 145.4 currently in the season, which is quite unlike Shikhar Dhawan of recent times. He hasn’t been dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah in his T20 career. So, that will be another match-up to watch out for today.
For Grand Leagues
- Ishan Kishan played one of the most dominating innings of the tournament when Mumbai Indians faced Delhi Capitals last weekend. He hit a blistering 72* and treated Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje like just another net session. Clearly, he would be oozing with confidence seeing the same bowling lineup again today.
- Kagiso Rabada is more than just a grand leagues pick. He is the purple cap holder with 25 scalps from the league stages. His role will remain crucial from DC’s point of view if they are to restrict this Mumbai outfit. There would be inner motivation to go one up against one of his rivals Jasprit Bumrah in a battle of quick bowlers.
- Shreyas Iyer has had a decent season but he is yet to do anything extravagant apart from that one innings against KKR at Sharjah. With 421 runs from 14 innings, he has had plenty of starts but failed to convert more frequently as one would hope from an India international like him. He will be an important cog in DC wheels today in the middle overs to tackle the threat of Jasprit Bumrah.
Who will win MI vs DC Today Match Prediction?
As per our MI vs DC Today Match Prediction, Mumbai Indians are primed to win this qualifier against Delhi Capitals. This will be a battle between two high-class bowling lineups but MI clearly do have an edge over Delhi in terms of their batting credentials. DC will depend upon Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant to come good if they are to have any chances of pulling off an unlikely win today.
