The concerning thing for the team is the off-key performances from Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis this season. After an underwhelming performance from Arin Finch and Baba Indrajith, it was the innings of Nitish Rana that ushered the team towards victory. Rana scored 48 runs off 37 balls. Moreover, the skipper Shreyas Iyer’s form with the bat has been flawless this season. Iyer’s decent innings of 34 runs formed a much-needed partnership with Nitish Rana after the loss of two wickets earlier in the match. Youngster Rinku Singh came out with all guns blazing when he hit 42 runs off just 23 balls, hitting 7 boundaries in the process.

The bowling unit has not been up-to-the-mark for Kolkata. Earlier in the season, Umesh Yadav was taking wickets; however, in the last few matches, the Indian pacer has had less success. Tim Southee puluked 2 wickets for the team but was very expensive in the process.
