KOL vs BLR MPL Team: Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders occupy the 3rd and 4th positions respectively in the points table with just two points separating them, but the manner in which both teams have gained those are contrasting with KKR’s performance nowhere near their best while RCB have gone from strength to strength. Both teams are strengthened with the addition of two quick hit-the-deck pacers in C Morris and L Ferguson but RCB will be the favourites going into this contest.
Kolkata Knight Riders have been largely unimpressive this season, yet they managed to win 5 out of the 9 matches they’ve played so far. The batting unit has been in shambles with most of their big names in Russell, D Karthik and E Morgan underfiring with the bat. The inclusion of L Ferguson has provided the much-needed fire in their bowling department which hasn’t been threatening. A loss for KKR in this match will create a window for teams below them to get into contention for the play-offs which they would be vary of.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have started the season well with 6 wins from matches and are just a couple of wins away from sealing a play-off berth for the first time since 2016. Their batting has been mostly reliant on the top-order with AB De Villiers scoring a fair share of their runs with the lower middle-order largely untested. Morris has shown terrific form with both bat and ball since his return from injury which has been a great boost for RCB. A win here will help them move one step closer to sealing a playoffs berth.

Pitch Report: Scoring rates this IPL were the lowest in Abu Dhabi compared to Sharjah and Dubai and it will drop more with the slowing down of the tracks. 138 has been the average first innings score in the past three years at this venue with pacers picking a higher share of wickets than spinners. KOL vs BLR MPL Team, Playing XIs, Mega Contest
Team News: RCB have been clear with their selections this season and haven’t made any wholesale changes to their side and are most likely to field the same eleven as last game, but they could bring back Siraj in for S Ahmed with the tracks at Abu Dhabi more conducive to pacers and also the presence of Morgan and Rana in the KKR lineup.
Narine has been cleared to bowl after being called for a suspect action but with Lockie Ferguson’s performance in the last game, it remains to be seen whether he’ll come in or not.
Underperformers/Risky picks: N Rana has managed to score only 184 runs from 9 games this season with teams targetting his weak spots in short balls and wrist-spin. There are also fewer chances for him to fire against a bowling attack comprising of Morris, Chahal, Saini and Sundar.
I Udana despite going for runs has managed to pick 7 wickets from 7 games which is pretty decent in terms of fantasy potential but with the presence of Morgan, D Karthik and A Russell in KKR’s batting order, Udana’s chances of shining with the ball are pretty bad. Captain Choices-
AB De Villiers – The South-African batsman has been in terrific form this season scoring 285 runs from 9 games at an average of 57.00 striking at 190.00. His troubles have largely come against spinners, but KKR’s bowling attack apart from Varun doesn’t have the ability to trouble the pace hitting monster in KKR vs RCB Dream11 today match prediction.
S Gill – He has been the highest run-scorer for KKR this season scoring 311 runs from 9 games. He is one of the rare young Indian batsmen who does feel comfortable against pace especially the short balls which should hold him in good stead against Morris and Saini.
Vice-captain Choices
V Kohli – Kohli loves batting against KKR which is evident by his record against the Purple franchise scoring 707 runs at an average of 39.28 against them. He hasn’t been in good touch this tournament yet he has managed to score 347 runs from 9 games so far.
D Karthik – He gave up the captaincy duties midway before the last game to focus on his batting which has been patchy so far. With Russell most likely to not play he’ll be pushed down to the finishing role where he had enjoyed much of his success in T20s.
X-Factors
Y Chahal – KKR is one of the most vulnerable teams against wrist-spin in this tournament with only Gill capable of tackling it. This falls right into the hands of Chahal who has been brave enough to toss the ball up and beat the batsman with flight this year.
L Ferguson – He was bowling with venom in the last game against SRH and was the sole reason behind KKR’s victory registering figures of 4-0-15-3. Apart from Kohli and AB De Villiers, he can trouble every RCB batsmen.
