KKR vs RCB Dream11: It’s the 39th match of the IPL 2020 and Kolkata Knight Riders are ready to face Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both the teams are not far from each other in the points table and KKR lies just below RCB in the 4th place. It will be a test of character of both the teams as they are close to qualify for the next round. RCB has had a wonderful season so far. Their high profile players are performing together and carrying the team’s chances and their plans have been spot on. The combination of experienced players with the younger players is working for them at the moment. Whenever they are in a spot of bother, their big players have stood up and finished off the games. Despite losing their two games to a less fancied Kings XI Punjab, RCB look firm in the third position in the points table. Their big boys like AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli have won them games with the bat. Though Aaron Finch is yet to fire at the top, young Devdutt Padikkal has shown enough maturity to show his worth. While in the bowling which has been their nemesis over the years, young Navdeep Saini has bowled some difficult overs and picked up wickets. The addition of Chris Morris in their line up has given their bowling a new dimension.

On the other side, KKR has been blowing a little hot and cold this season. They have performed well in patches but their performance in some games has been below par. New captain Eoin Morgan has been the most consistent performer for the team but the Big Show Andre Russell has failed to fire. The highly rated Shubman Gill has been struggling for his strike rate and has been unable to get going. Bowling had been KKR’s strength whenever they have performed well but the bowlers except Varun Chakravarthy have been below their expectations. The unavailability of Sunil Narine due to reported action hasn’t helped their cause either. Knight Riders need to find their ‘A’ game moving into the important phase of the tournament.

KKR vs RCB Dream11 Prediction, Team News, Playing 11

Royal Challengers have looked a different team this season. They always seemed to rely more on AB de Villiers and Kohli to take them home in the previous editions. But this season, their young and inexperienced players have shouldered the responsibility. Young Devdutt Padikkal looks more than mature for his age. He averages almost 33 and is the second-highest run-scorer for his team after Kohli. Another young man Navdeep Saini has clocked over 140 kph speeds on a regular basis and has a lethal Yorker. De Villiers has been striking the ball beautifully and was the architect of the sensational win in the last game. Kohli has found his consistency despite a slow start to the tournament and Yuzi Chahal is looking in great control over his leg spin. Aaron Finch’s at the top order has been a subject of concern for RCB. But he would get his opportunities looking at his ability to turn the game around. Isuru Udana was expensive in the last game and he may be replaced by Dale Steyn. Shivam Dube can also come back into the side in place of Shahbaz Ahmed. Other than these, no major changes are expected for RCB.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand have a tough task in hand against a highly fancied RCB. The last time these two teams faced each other, RCB defeated KKR comprehensively. Their players have failed to fire collectively and they have often found themselves in a spot of bother. Shubman Gill started the tournament looking as a composed batsman but he has struggled to change gears when needed. Nitish Rana has been impressive whenever he has come out to bat but has struggled to kick on from there. Captain Eoin Morgan and the mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy have performed consistently for the team but it’s time that other players step up now. Dinesh Karthik looked good in the last game and would be expected to score in this crucial game too. The poor form of allrounder Andre Russell has affected KKR’s performance. Though Narine has been taken out of the warning list, it remains unclear who will he replace coming into the team as Lockie Ferguson produced a match-winning performance in the last game. Prasidh Krishna may replace the expensive Mavi in the playing 11.

Pitch Report

The pitch in Abu Dhabi is getting slower as the tournament is progressing. The weather is expected to be hot at 34 degrees and dew is not expected to play major part. A target over 170 will be challenging for the chasing team. Chennai could score only 125 in the last game against Royals. RR lost 3 quick wickets in the chase which means the pitch will have something for bowlers. Jos Buttler’s innings indicated that applying yourself on the wicket and showing intent can give you the required runs. ABD is highly expected to score some runs as he did in the last clash vs KKR. He is averaging 57 at a strike rate of 190 this IPL. This makes him a high profile player in this KOL vs BLR Dream11 team prediction.

KOL vs BLR Dream11 Expert Picks

Shubman Gill- Gill is averaging 39 this season and has been consistent enough but the main concern is his strike rate. He starts cautiously but when there is the need to change gears, he has often thrown his wicket away resulting in low overall strike rate. He can take the game away if he starts hitting the ball well and his consistency at the top with the bat makes him an obvious choice in the KOL vs BLR Dream11 team.

AB de Villiers- De Villiers totally dominated KKR when RCB last played them. While other RCB batsmen including Kohli were struggling to get going, it was De Villiers who scored an unbeaten 73 off 33 balls and got RCB to a well above par total. He has single-handedly won a handful of games for RCB this year and against an inconsistent KKR bowling, he will fancy his chances.

Dinesh Karthik- Karthik looked in ominous touch in the last game and along with Morgan, was responsible to take KKR to a respectable total. The keeper-batsman left the captaincy in between the tournament to concentrate on his batting and his finishing skills were on show in the match against SRH when he scored an unbeaten 29 off just 14 balls. He will have the responsibility to control the middle and lower order against the likes of Chahal and Sundar.

Chris Morris- Morris has added a new dimension to this RCB attack. He has picked up wickets with the new ball and has been able to gain reverse swing with the old ball too. His skills came to the fore in the last game against Rajasthan when he picked up a 4-wicket haul. His ability to hit big sixes along with bowling Yorkers at the death makes him a must pick a player in the KKR vs RCB Today Match prediction.

Differential Picks

Lockie Ferguson- He started his IPL 2020 with a bang in the last game. He single handedly changed the last match when he picked up 3 wickets for just 15 runs. He bowled with high pace as he usually does and also bowled excellent cutters to pick up wickets. Not only in the match, he carried KKR’s chances in the Super Over and didn’t disappoint. Against a high quality top order, Knight Riders will want Ferguson to repeat his performance.

Virat Kohli- Kohli started the tournament with a string of low scores making everyone doubt about his loss of form. But soon he regained his touch and since then, he hasn’t looked behind. He is averaging almost 58 this year and is 5th on the list of Orange Cap winners. His consistency at the top earns him a direct entry in the Dream11 team.
