Batting first, Colombo posted 289-6 on the board in the first innings powered by the century from Shehan Jayasuriya. In reply,  Kandy managed 205-5 in 39 overs when the play was called off Colombo was declared the winners by 3 runs.

On the other side, Dambulla was once again bowled out and fell short of the target. Chasing 346 runs target, Dambulla folded up at 269 runs in 46.5 overs and fell short by 76 runs.
