The ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018 kick starts with hosts Pakistan going head to head with Hong Kong at Karachi tomorrow. The tournament features eight teams, divided into two groups, who will be contesting for the title in a total of 15 ODIs from December 06 to December 15.

Pakistan and Hong Kong are placed in Group B along with Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates while India, Oman, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka form the Group A. The tournament will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka at two venues – Karachi and Colombo.

The Test-playing sides taking part in the tournament are allowed to field a maximum of two national cricketers i.e., India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. 

In the first match, Pakistan will be led by M Rizwan who is coming off a fantastic series against England Lions. In four matches, M Rizwan amassed two centuries and is in a terrific form. Along with him, hosts boast a lot of emerging talents in the likes of Hussain Talat, Shaheebzada Farhan, Khushdil Shah and Mohammad Ashgar. 

Hong Kong, on the opposite, will be led by their regular skipper Aizaz Khan will rely upon Nizakat Khan, Eshaan Khan, Ehsan Nawaz, Anshuman Rath and Babar Hayat to gain the headlines. Afghanistan had a good outing in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2018 and the side would be hoping to continue the same momentum.
