The third match of Sri Lanka’s Super Provincial One Day Tournament 2019 will be played between Dambulla and Galle at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Saturday morning. This will be the second game for both the sides as Dambulla faced 82 runs defeats at the hands of Colombo in the opening fixture while Galle secured a massive 156 runs win over Kandy to kickstart their campaign.

With just two more games remaining, Dambulla needs to win this game to stay alive in the competition. They faced 82 runs defeat against Colombo after being bowled out for 156  runs in response to 238 runs target on the board.  Bowlers, especially Jeevan Mendis (4-36), did a wonderful task in restricting Colombo to 238 runs but the flop show from batters resulted in the big loss. The top order failed miserably as Dambulla were reeling at 18-4 at one point. Moreover, a better show from batters can help Dambulla get back on track.

Galle eyes playoffs spot with another win

Galle registered a massive 156 runs win over Kandy in the opening fixture and has grabbed the top spot in the ladder. After posting 255 runs on the board, courtesy fifties from S Weerakkody and Kusal Mendis, Galle bowled out Kandy for mere 99 runs in 18.5 overs, courtesy Lasith Malinga’s 7-49. Dushmantha Chameera was the other pick in bowlers, finishing at 3-27.

They would be looking to book a playoffs spot with a win over Dambulla tomorrow.
