They’ll, however, be bolstered by the addition of the returning Proteas in David Miller, Henrich Klaasen against a rejuvenated Tshwane Spartans, who came back after a chastening 49-run loss in their opening encounter to pull-off a nail-biting 1-run win over Paarl Rocks.

Batting first, wicket-keeper Cloete spearheaded an improved effort with the bat as he plummeted the Rocks’ with an imperious 80 while Theunis de Bruyn scored a pulsating 38-ball-66 to help their side post 5-203 in 20 overs.

Defending 204, Cameron Delport scored an imperious 43-ball-73 and threatened to take the game away from the Spartans but Dean Elgar’s sensational fielding effort in the last over helped the Spartans pull off a 1-run win to open their account in the 2018 Mzansi Super League.
