Sri Lanka will look to stay alive in the tournament with a win over already out of contention South Africa when both the teams will square off Riverside Ground in Chester-le Street.
Sri Lanka causes the biggest upset of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after clinching 20 runs win over the hosts England in a low-scoring encounter at Headingley, Leeds. In six games, Sri Lanka has 6 points coming off two wins and two no result encounters and needs to win all the three remaining encounter for contention.
South Africa, on the other hand, are out of the contention and have nothing left but to play for pride. With just one win in seven encounters, South Africa will look to end the campaign on a high with wins in the remaining two encounters. After facing off Sri Lanka, Proteas will take on Australia in their final fixture on July 06.
