DC vs SRH Dream11 Prediction: Two teams, who started their campaigns in completely different fashions than their recent performances are showing, will go head to head today for a place in the IPL final. Delhi Capitals have lost their steam as the season has progressed while Sunrisers Hyderabad have picked up their powers just like the glowing winter of UAE. Delhi Capitals are yet to play an IPL final while SRH have been there twice in 2016 & 2018. We will preview DC vs SRH Dream11 contest.
Delhi Capitals were beaten on all fronts by Mumbai Indians in the first Qualifier at Dubai. Bowling first, DC bowlers just couldn’t find any controls after the early wicket of Rohit Sharma. The powerhouse of Mumbai batting lineup came to the fore and punished DC on their each mistake. The Capitals made a comeback of sorts in the middle overs with Ravichandran Ashwin’s double strikes. But that lasted as momentary pleasure as Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan took over for the final burst. Bowlers lost their plot completely as MI piled on 200 from their 20 overs.
In reply, DC had a torrid start as all of their top 3 made ducks and they were reduced to 3 for none runs by Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. Only Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel resisted with the scores of 65 & 42 but that was too little too late in the end as MI completed a hammering by 57 runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad continued on their march in the eliminator against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Bowling first, SRH tightened the screws on RCB right from the beginning. Jason Holder dismissed openers Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal cheaply. Experienced International duo of Aaron Finch and AB de Villiers tried to stitch together a partnership but couldn’t prevent another collapse once the Australian was dismissed. As a result, RCB were only successful to post 131 on the board. Jason Holder scalped 3 while T Natarajan had two in the bag.
In reply, Shreevats Goswami went in the first over. David Warner and Manish Pandey both were dismissed in a short interval after a slow partnership. SRH were in a precarious position when Priyam Garg skied one against Yuzvendra Chahal. But calm heads from two international captains Kane Williamson and Jason Holder made sure SRH cross the line in the last over.
In head-to-head comparisons, Sunrisers Hyderabad have enjoyed an upper hand over Delhi Capitals historically. SRH have won 11 matches while 6 games have gone DC’s way in a total of 17 matches played between these two sides. In last 5 matches, SRH have a lead of 3-2 over Delhi. Sunrisers Hyderabad have won two of their fixtures against DC this year in the league stages. Both teams met in an eliminator last year where Delhi beat SRH at Vizag.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch which was used in the eliminator presented difficult conditions for the batsmen. It was two-paced and stroke-making wasn’t easy at all. Similar conditions are expected today for this Qualifier as well. This will be the end of a long couple of months for the curators at Abu Dhabi and they would be hoping for a sporting pitch for this one. Dew is expected to take center-stage again when captains make their decisions at toss.

Captain Picks
For Small Leagues
- Marcus Stoinis may come across as a proper differential today. Given Prithvi Shaw’s poor form, Marcus Stoinis can open the batting today for DC. If it happens, that will open up his fantasy potential. He was the leading run-scorer in BBL last year when he opened the batting for Melbourne Stars with 705 runs.
- David Warner is a common pick from today’s lineups. He has flourished in second half of the tournament with a considerable change in intent. With 546 runs in 15 innings, he is clearly having another season of brilliance. He made 66 when SRH played DC last time in the league stages. Also his match-ups against Axar Patel and Harshal Patel have been extremely fruitful for him.
- Rashid Khan is a straight-forward choice against Delhi Capitals. He has been the leading wicket-taker for SRH this year with 19 scalps from 15 innings. Apart from that, DC batsmen must have been having previous scares of playing against him. His match-ups against Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Ajinkya Rahane augur well for SRH.
For Grand Leagues
- Ravichandran Ashwin is a handy grand leagues pick. With pitches slowing down significantly, another surface is expected to help Ashwin’s style of bowling. David Warner played him well in the last match but that will be a contest that should offer some interest today. Ravichandran Ashwin has 13 wickets so far from the season.
- Anrich Nortje has bowled exceedingly well with the new ball so far and played one of the major roles in getting Delhi Capitals thus far. He is the second highest wicket-taker for DC after Kagiso Rabada with 20 wickets from 14 matches. He is a better option than Kagiso Rabada as latter’s form has faded away in last few matches.
- Sandeep Sharma can become a differential in the grand leagues today. He has had a reasonable season till now but a couple of very interesting match-ups are in his favour against DC. Ajinkya Rahane (2 dismissals from 71 balls) & Shreyas Iyer (3 dismissals from 47 balls) will be on his radar today.
Who will win DC vs SRH Today Match Prediction?
As per our DC vs SRH Today Match Predictions, Sunrisers Hyderabad are favourites to win this encounter against Delhi Capitals. In tournament play, late momentum is quite a thing and SRH seemed to have played it perfectly. With four consecutive wins, they are peaking at the right time while Delhi Capitals’ graph has gone in completely different direction. It will be interesting to see how Ricky Ponting picks his troops up after a humiliating loss against Mumbai Indians.
