Boland Park, Paarl will host the Momentum One Day Cup 2019 tournament opener on Friday evening. The 38th season of Proteas domestic cricket tournament will kickstart with the clash of Cape Cobras and Warriors. Warriors are the joint reigning champions of the title as the last year’s final between Dolphins and Warriors was washed out due to rain and the trophy was shared between the two sides.

A total of six teams will be participating in the tournament and will play 33 ODIs from February 08-March 31. The two semi-finals will be played on March 27 and March 28 with the final of the tournament scheduled on March 31, Sunday. The venues for the semi-final and final are yet to be decided.

Cape Cobras will be lead by Dane Piedt in the tournament opener as the regular opener JP Duminy is still recovering from an injury and is set to join the side ahead of the second clash with Knights. The defending champions Warriors have released a 13-man squad ahead of the clash and look all set to start with a win.
