BAR vs GUY Dream 11 Team CPL 2020 – Barbados Tridents vs Guyana Amazon Warriors

Barbados Tridents, the defending champions season is in absolute shambles this year managing to win just 2 out of 8 matches. Even if they go on to win their last two league games, the chances of them making the semis are very minuscule. In their last match against the Warriors, they stooped to their lowest point of this season when they were reduced to 27/8 before Santner and Rashid Khan rescued them from the shame of getting dismissed for the lowest score in CPL. Their batting order apart from Charles has been a big let-down this season and Holder’s bizarre tactics with the bowling changes haven’t helped either.
Guyana Amazon Warriors on the other hand is starting to look like a dangerous team with three wins on the trot. Their bowling has always been strong and now their batting unit has started to show some consistency with the likes of King, Hetmyer and Pooran scoring 50 plus scores in the last 3 matches. They’ve more or less sealed a semi-final spot with 10 points from 9 matches but would like to end the league stage with a win to take the momentum into the playoffs.
The experiment with Shai Hope in the middle-order didn’t work for the Tridents but it’s more likely to be persisted with. With Hemraj back into the side and adding stability at the top there’s no need for Warriors to tinker with the winning combination. Both teams are most likely to field the same eleven as they did in their respective last games.
Pitch report
The night games in Tarouba have all been low scoring so far this season and expect the same for this match too. There’s a threat of a thunderstorm looming around and the chances of a shortened match are high.
BAR vs GUY Dream11 Prediction
Possible BAR Playing 11 – J Charles, J Greaves, K Mayers, J Holder(C), S Hope(WK), J Carter, M Santner, A Nurse, R Reifer, Rashid Khan, Hayden Walsh
J Charles – A consistent performer at the top for the Barbados unit with 204 runs from 8 matches. His overall record against GAW is promising too with 412 runs at an average of 31.69 at a SR of 145.58
J Holder – His batting form has spiralled downwards after promising a lot at the start of the tournament. In a must-win game, Holder would look to lead by example.
Rashid Khan – He’s back to his best after being rusty at the start of the tournament. With 10 wickets from 8 games, he’s the highest wicket-taker for the Tridents.
M Santner – Santner’s value with the bat came into fore after he scored 36(27) to avoid embarrassment for the Tridents against the Warriors in their last match. Expect another all-round performance from the Kiwi spinner.
Possible GUY Playing 11 – B King, C Hemraj, S Hetmyer, N Pooran(WK), R Taylor, K Paul, C Green(C), R Shepherd, Naveen-ul-Haq, I Tahir, K Sinclair
N Pooran – Apart from A Nurse, there are no other favourable match-ups for Tridents to use against him especially considering his recent form.
S Hetmyer – He was back to his best with an unbeaten 56 off 35 balls against the Zouks last night. A repeat of that performance would not be surprising at all.
I Tahir – The number of right-handers in the Tridents lineup should allow Tahir to add some more wickets to his already impressive tally of 12 wickets from 9 matches.
Naveen-ul-Haq – The Afghan pacer loves bowling at Tarouba bagging 9 wickets from 6 matches at the venue. His unorthodox action and the cutters will come handy once again.
BAR vs GUY Dream11 Team Captain, Differential Picks
Pack your fantasy team for this match with more players from the Guyana Amazon Warriors side rather than the struggling Tridents. Put more emphasis on picking bowlers and regarding the batsman try to go with accumulators rather than the flashy ones.
Captaincy Picks – Picking the captain from the Warriors team would be a wise choice. Go with Pooran and Hetmyer or one of the bowlers from the Guyana side. Holder won’t be a bad option either.
Differential Picks –
A Nurse – A Nurse’s off-spinners can come handy against the like of Pooran and Hetmyer and is capable of chipping in with the bat too.
J Carter – Carter hasn’t been provided with many opportunities but he has the experience of playing in these slow tracks and will prove handy against the spin attack of the Warriors.
