AUS VS IND DREAM11 PREDICTIONS
India tour of Australia, 2018
Australia vs India, 2nd T20I | AUS vs IND Dream11 Team
After going down by 5 runs in a high-scoring nail-biting encounter, India will aim to square the series when they take on hosts Australia in the second T20I at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday.
India look to shrug off the blip; Australia hope to build on the winning momentum
The first T20I was a case of missed chances for the visitors. With both bat and ball, India started well, only to squander the advantage in the latter half.
Batting first, both Aaron Finch and D’Archy Short started cautiously against Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah; the first boundary did not arrive until the last bowl of the third over. The disciplined lines that India bowled in the first four overs almost reaped the rewards: Finch tried a full-blooded cover-drive off Bumrah, only to punch it straight to Kohli, and in what would be deemed as a rarity, his opposite number dropped the catch; one of the few chances that India missed on the field.
D’Archy Short tried to break the shackles but was nipped out by Khaleel Ahmed when he mistimed a hoike straight to Kuldeep Yadav. For young Khaleel, it was the only bright moment in his debut game on Australian soil, as the left-arm fast bowler soon got a reality check as Chris Lynn teed into him, hitting him for three sixes in an over.
For Khaleel, it was a reality check as the length (shortish) that had reaped him good rewards at home against the Windies turned out to be hittable on Australian tracks and in the absence of subtle variations like the slower ball and short of a length delivery, the left-armer was exposed to the hilt.
India’s decision to field two wicket-keepers in their top-six meant they had just five specialist bowlers to turn to, and with two of them (Khaleel and Krunal) going for plenty, Kohli was bereft for options to turn to.
Maxwell (46) and Marcus Stonis (33) laid into Krunal Pandya (0-55) to lead Australia’s recovery before the heavens opened up during the 17th over.
The game was curtailed to a 17-over-a-side encounter with India requiring a revised target of 174, and while they lost Rohit Sharma cheapy, Shikhar Dhawan set the ball rolling with a swashbuckling fifty. Kohli’s decision to bat at 4 in a bid to move KL Rahul up the order failed as Rahul was outfoxed by Adam Zampa and was out stumped. Koghki followed suit in trying to up the ante. Dhawan followed suit but a counter-attacking partnership between Karthik and Pant kept India afloat but ultimately it was Marcus Stoinis, who with a mixture of slower balls successfully accounted for Karthik in the last over to script Australia’s sixth win in 23 International matches this year.
Stat Corner
- If India loses at the MCG, it will end their streak of seven consecutive bilateral series win.

- Jasprit Bumrah needs three wickets to become the second Indian bowler to complete 50 T20I wickets.
- Australia has now won the last two completed T20Is against India.

AUS vs IND Dream11 Team
Wicket-Keeper:- Rishab Pant (20) kept India afloat along with Dinesh Karthik in the last game before going for a reckless shot. You can opt him in your Dream11 side.
Batters:– Rohit Sharma, Aaron Finch, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli failed in the last game, but the quality and talent that they boast of, it might just turn out to be their night at the MCG. Chris Lynn (37), Dinesh Karthik (30) and Shikhar Dhawan (76) had an imperious outing the other night. They are ideal picks for your Dream11 side.
All-rounders:– It is a no-brainer. Glenn Maxwell (46) and Marcus Stoinis (33 & 2-27) played defining roles for Australia in the last game.
Bowlers:– Kuldeep Yadav (2-24) and Adam Zampa (2-22) bamboozled the opposition batsmen at the Gabba. With the MCG being a big ground, expect the spinners to come into the game and play defining roles yet again. From the fast bowlers, you can opt for Billy Stanlake, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
