AUS vs IND Dream11 Prediction: Yes, we are doing a brisk change in the format but both teams have already played like accumulation of T20s in the longer format as well. Teams will be beginning their preparations for the T20 world cup next year in India. But when India and Australia come across each other, it would go down as another landmark contest in their rivalry, make absolutely no mistake about that. We will preview AUS vs IND Dream11 contest.
Hosts lost their last T20I series in UK before the IPL but apart from that, this Australian outfit has done well in T20s in last 12 months. Justine Langer is pretty keen on Ashton Agar as Australia’s T20 all-rounder at no 7 position while Josh Hazlewood has been an underrated bowler in limited overs formats for Australia. In batting, Glenn Maxwell’s form should encourage the middle order but lower middle order lacks power on paper. Moises Henriques is likely to play but a lot will depend upon Alex Carey if Australia are to post significant scores.
On the other hand, India would be breathing much better after their third ODI win at the same venue. KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan are coming off fresh from stellar IPL seasons and would be looking to continue the same in India colours. Another interesting aspect for this team would be about how Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer bat in the middle overs. There are already enough talks about the roles of anchors in T20 format and both will need to find just the right blend of attack and defense. In bowling department, Deepak Chahar is likely to get an opportunity in this format while team management is already buzzing with the prospects of T Natarajan in this format.
In head-to-head comparisons, India are ahead in this format in historic comparisons with 11 wins in a total of 21 matches between these two sides. Australia came out victorious on 8 occasions while one match was washed out due to bad weather. Series was ended at 1-1 when both teams met in Australia last time around in late 2018.
Pitch and Conditions
We look forward to another high-scoring series after the fest in ODIs. Manuka Oval has been a high-scoring venue in its history. This ground has the highest scoring rate of any ground in T20 cricket. In terms of weather, a fine summer evening is expected at Canberra today.

Captain Picks
For Small Leagues
- Steve Smith played one of his best T20 innings when he played here against Pakistan in the last match. He guided Australia to home with an unbeaten knock of 80 runs that included some breathtaking shots. We have already seen his form in the first couple of ODIs, hence a prime contender for captaincy position today.
- Glenn Maxwell has been fairly consistent at international level if we take apart all his disappointments at IPL. He strikes at 158.36 per 100 balls in T20Is so far in his career. When both the teams met last time in this format, Glenn Maxwell blasted an unbeaten century at Bangalore to win a series for his country.
- KL Rahul is India’s batting spearhead in this format. He has been an IPL monster for last couple of seasons and would be hoping to replicate the same form in T20Is as well. If Australia decide to start with Glenn Maxwell to counter Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul should enjoy himself.
For Grand Leagues
- Aaron Finch is in cracking form so far this tour. He got some important starts against England in September but failed to make any match-winning contributions. If he survives opening spells, India are likely to attack him with Ravindra Jadeja looking at his record against the left-arm orthodox.
- Virat Kohli is an utility grand leagues option today. Given his consistency, he is likely to earn you some points on most days. He needs to play Adam Zampa carefully as he has scored only 40 runs against him from 39 balls while getting dismissed twice.
- Jasprit Bumrah is having pretty interesting match-ups against most Australian players. He bowled beautifully in the last ODI as well and took the important scalp of Glenn Maxwell to turn the tie in India’s favour. His records against Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are highly rewarding for him.
