Sam Curran
In the absence of Ben Stokes in the side, young all-rounder Sam Curran will posses a major threat for Team India in the ongoing five-match Test series. The southpaw is already a proven performer in the longest format of the game as in the 22 matches so far, he has scalped 44 wickets with the ball and has played some crucial innings with the bat down the order, scoring 768 runs in 34 innings at an average of 26.48.
The junior Curran was one of the main reasons behind India’s 4-1 loss during their previous tour in 2018. The 23-year-old single-handedly took the game to India on multiple occasions with his aggressive knocks in the lower order.

In the four-Test matches, he scored 272 runs at an average of 38.86, including two fifties. In the bowling department, the England’s all-rounder picked up 11 wickets at an average of 23.55, with 4/74 being his best figures. The Virat Kohli-led side would be hoping Sam Curran fails to replicates his performances from 2018, and if he does so it will be difficult for Team India going ahead into the five-Test series against India.
