IND vs ENG: Day 2 Review
Batting may have got easier, but Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have once again got India off to a great start. Considering England bat last, the match is in the balance. England are arguably still slight favorites as India’s middle-order has looked shaky.
India knocked England out for 290. Chris Woakes made a sensational return to Test cricket after an injury layoff. Following his four-wicket haul in the first innings, he scored his sixth Test fifty before being run out. After lunch, Mohammed Siraj removed Jonny Bairstow to put India back into the game. Ravindra Jadeja accounted for Ollie Robinson and Moeen Ali.

Jonny Bairstow and Ollie Pope put on a quickfire 77-run partnership off 109 balls to give England a small but considerable lead at lunch. Umesh Yadav had given India the perfect start by removing Nightwatchman Craig Overton for 1 and then taking the crucial wicket of Dawid Malan. But the match turned on its head as Bairstow and Pope scored at a brisk pace. After being asked to bat first, India were bowled out for 191 in their first innings.
