IND vs ENG, 3rd Test Day 2 Weather Update: There was some quality and entertaining cricket action witnessed on the opening day of third Test between England and India at the Headingley. England pacers displayed a wonderful performance to bundle out India for a paltry total of 78 runs in the first innings. However, the visitors will surely be hoping for a change in fortunes on Day 2.

According to weather forecast, the rain gods will once again stay away on Day 2 of the 3rd Test. IND vs ENG, 3rd Test

After winning their first toss of the series and choosing to bat first, India got off to a horrendous start courtesy a sensational opening spell from England’s veteran pacer James Anderson. Within no time, India found themselves in complete tatters at 21 for 3 with Anderson dismissing the trio of KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli in quick succession. The England pacers bowled amazingly well in partnerships to put constant pressure on the Indian batting. India ended up losing their last seven wickets for just 22 runs eventually getting bowled out for 78 runs in 40.4 overs. For England, Anderson and Craig Overton picked up three wickets each. The pair of Ollie Robinson and Sam Curran also took two scalps each.

England’s opening duo of Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns batted beautifully in the final session coming out unscathed at stumps on Day 1. Hameed smashed his third half-century against India while Burns was 52 not out as England finished the day at 120 for no loss and a first innings lead of 42 runs.
