Virat Kohli
Despite going through a lean patch with the bat, Virat Kohli is arguably among the favourites to end up as the highest run-scorer in the five-match test series between England and India. The Indian skipper, however, didn’t have the greatest starts to the Test series as he bagged a golden duck in the first innings of the first Test match against his arch-nemesis James Anderson. But there’s no brainer that right-handed batsman will come back strong and could be the biggest threat for the hosts.
Kohli’s records speak for himself as he has amassed 7547 runs at an average just above 52 with 27 hundred. The Indian skipper was at his best when his side toured England during 2018 as he scored 593 runs from 10 innings at an average of 59.30 to go with two centuries. He will hold the key for India’s middle order against England in the much-awaited Test series.

India vs England 2021: What Virat said ahead of the Test series against England?
Speaking to Dinesh Karthik on Sky Sports, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that winning the upcoming Test series against England will be a huge thing for Indian cricket. He further added that his side is much more experienced than they were in 2018 and can raise their hands in pressure situations.
“For me personally, it means nothing more than winning a Test match or a Test series anywhere else in the world. For me, these things are not anecdotes or milestones in my career. We step on the field and we compete to win every Test match, that’s what matters to me. For Indian cricket it will be a huge thing. But for me it is the culture that is dear to me. The players, who were inexperienced in 2018 are now more experienced. Yes, there will be failures but we will have enough players to raise their hands up and be counted in pressure situations,” Virat Kohli said.
